Are FunLoot's Pokémon cards authentic?

Accepted Answer

Yes. All sealed Pokémon TCG product (booster packs, boxes, ETBs) ships factory-sealed from authorized distributors. Singles are either factory-graded by PSA (in the original PSA slab) or sourced from verified collector lots with photographic provenance. We never sell counterfeit, proxy, or reprinted cards.

What's the difference between Scarlet & Violet and Sword & Shield eras?

Scarlet & Violet (SV) is the current era launched late 2022, featuring the new ex mechanic (replacing V/Vmax/Vstar from SWSH). Sword & Shield (SWSH) ran 2020-2022, includes hugely popular sets like Brilliant Stars and Lost Origin. SV is the current competitive standard; SWSH is the secondary-market favorite for chase cards like the Charizard VMAX rainbows.

Should I open booster boxes or keep them sealed?

Accepted Answer

Depends on your goals. Sealed booster boxes typically appreciate ~10-20% annually after they go out of print (Booster Box sealed product is the closest to a 'blue chip' in TCG investing). Opening gives you the thrill of pulls + potential big-value chase cards. We sell both — your call. Most collectors do half-and-half.

What's a PSA 10 worth vs a PSA 9?

For modern Pokémon chase cards (alt arts, special illustrations, full arts), PSA 10 typically sells for 2-3× a PSA 9, sometimes 5×+ for elite cards. For vintage Base Set Charizard, PSA 10 can be 50-100× a PSA 9. The premium reflects scarcity — PSA 10s are statistically rare even on apparent-Mint cards. Do you carry Japanese Pokémon cards?

Limited selection currently — mainly the high-demand Japanese exclusives (specific promos, art-rare alts from sets like SAR booster boxes). Most of our Pokémon inventory is English-language to match the dominant collector market in Saudi Arabia.

How do I spot a fake Pokémon card?

Accepted Answer

Real cards have crisp printing, a thin layer of yellow/blue between layers (visible if torn — don't tear yours), the Pokémon logo with correct font/spacing, and an accurate energy symbol shape. Counterfeit cards often feel lighter, have blurry text under magnification, and the holo pattern doesn't shift correctly. If buying outside FunLoot, ask the seller for a video showing the card from multiple angles.
